Why has there never been a child sent to space? The simple, grown-up answer is, “It’s too dangerous!” So if that’s the case, when was the first flight of a child aboard an airplane and who were they? (The answer may surprise you.) Sending kids to space may the single most important factor in determining the eventual migration of humankind to space.
